Cilla Black comes to visit!

It’s Cilla

Well you could have knocked me down with an A4 sheet of paper. All these years I’ve been a fan and there she was, outside the Print Factory and just a few feet from our entrance. At first I thought she was about to walk in for some business cards or personal stationary, but she stopped at a metal gate adjoining our Printing Shop.

I simply had to take a photo. I ran out almost knocking the cameraman to the floor, swerved past the soundman and promptly bumped into a couple of bystanders.

I clicked the iPhone camera and there she was, captured on my screen, soaking wet, holding an umbrella and still keeping an appearance of humor.

Then I heard that familiar Liverpool accent and squeaky voice as she began to describe her early life in Liverpool. That’s when I discovered that next door to the Print Factory, in Duke Street, was the Zodiac Coffee Bar. A favorite venue of the 50’s where Cilla worked as a waitress in the evenings. And, even more interesting, next door to the Print Factory is where she met her husband to be, Bobby Willis

Cilla Black is apparently set to host a one-off special of her TV show Blind Date to celebrate her 50 years in showbiz. The legendary TV hosted the dating program for nearly 20 years and as a tribute she will be going back to her roots to share some of her favourite moments from her glittering career and recall her friendships with famous musicians such as The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers and Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, and chat to her celeb pals including Barbara Windsor and Christopher Biggins.

Have you met Cilla or been as close as I was. Please comment below; I’d like to hear from you.
